Above the beautiful villages of Turzovka and Korňa in the Kysuce Mountains, there is an unremarkable mountain called Živčáková. At first glance it might seem ordinary, but for locals and visitors it has become a place where miracles happen.
Mount Živčáková has become a spiritual place of pilgrimage, welcoming visitors seeking spiritual rest or a path to miracles. It is also a popular destination for hikers and families with children who come in search of beautiful nature and experiences.
At Živčáková you can walk, confess, tell stories, cry in a sacred atmosphere. No one knows exactly how it works, but the mountain seems to return blessings upon you. You can draw water from the seven springs, which are considered healing. It can bring relief not only to physical, but also to emotional and psychological pains.
Its almost as if the only condition for receiving a reward from Živčáková is your honest heart.
Special place
The Marian pilgrimage site of Živčáková, also known as the “Slovak Lourdes”, has attracted many visitors with its famous water, which is said to heal and relieve pain. It is a place associated with many personal stories and prayers that have miraculously come true. It is therefore not surprising that local people, as well as people from Bohemia and Poland, come here with the intention of being healed or having a spiritual experience.
Behind the beautiful views and quiet surroundings is an easy walk, which you can enjoy along the asphalt path that climbs to the top.
Revelation at Živčáková According to a local legend, an apparition of the Virgin Mary happened at Živčáková. It happened 70 years ago, when 42-year-old Matúš Lašuto noticed that Our Lady spoke to him. However, this story is surrounded by mystery and several enigmas. After the apparition, several others followed, and the water of Živčáková became known for its miraculous effects. In addition to the springs and the chapel of Our Lady Mother of the Church, you will also find a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside at the site.
The place is a personification of spiritual quest and hope in the realisation of miracles. And whether we believe in miracles or not, Živčáková reminds us that there are unexplainable and wonderful things in this world.
